If you have old family photos from a professional studio in Bremen, there’s a good chance some of them were taken at Cook Studio, run by Mrs F E Cook. Her name was Bertha, but friends called her Dot. She had previously worked at studios in Mishawaka and South Bend.
She was born Bertha Watrous in 1878 and married Orelious Davis in 1907. He died in 1920, and she remarried to Frank E Cook at the end of 1922. Frank was a hotel clerk who later joined her in Bremen.
Cook Studio moved several times in its 25 years, but apparently stayed in the downtown area until Mrs Cook left Bremen permanently about 1948, before dying in 1949 at 71.
