Here is a letter to Wakarusa Tribune readers published in 1915 relating the memories of Permelia [Pitts] Grove (1837-1916), the wife of barber Levi Grove. Her family was among the first Europeans to settle in Locke twp, Elkhart county. Her daughter Hattie married Julius DeLanghe, and some of the DeLanghes continue to live in Bremen.
