The August meeting of the Historic Bremen board took place at the home of Dick Kares, who graciously entertained the board with a tour of his collection of Bremen memorabilia collected over many years.

Memorabilia in curio cabinet

Several months ago, Dick delivered a History Chat on his collection and memories of growing up in Bremen and allowed us to scan his collection of over 300 postcards. Those postcards, many of which are real-photo postcards (RPPC in collectors’ lingo), continue to be a wealth of information and a window into the past.

His memorabilia includes photographs still not scanned into Historic Bremen archives, so we look forward to getting together with him again and adding to the digital collection to share with all German township residents past and present.

Thanks, Dick!
