Historic Bremen has had the kind confirmation of the Bremen Fire Department that painting your fire hydrant to celebrate America 250 is perfectly fine. We have the original paint schemes for numerous hydrant shapes and characters that we’ve just put online. You can download these and paint real or fake hydrants! (There are various types/sizes available.)

The town, thru the water and fire departments, reserve the right to reject certain designs that aren’t in keeping with community standards or the spirit of the project. And the water department requests that you check with them to get the water pressure of the hydrant and paint the cap the corresponding color, which will help the fire department in the future.
