In 1963, Slim Sherland handed out tornado warning advice cards as part of his campaign for German township trustee.

The Bremen Enquirer didn’t record when aerial bombs were replaced by a modern tornado siren. It was timely notice, since the Palm Sunday Tornadoes came in 1965.

Harlow “Slim” Sherland (1915-2004) was a World War 2 veteran and, in the 1960s and 70s, German Township Trustee.
