This item on an intemperate temperance candidate drowning the poor voters of Bremen ran in the Marshall County Republican prior to the 1878 elections.

Adam Vinnedge, who lived west of Bremen and had a store in LaPaz, seems to have recovered his reputation and continued to hold local offices and enforce the law against moonshine when Marshall county went dry at the turn of the century.
Not all the Vinnedges were teetotalers. Ora Vinnedge married C J Hoople’s daughter and operated a pool hall under the saloon.
