A new addition to Historic Bremen’s research capabilities is the Kodak Slide N Scan, which allows us to view and capture slides and film. This is valuable, because the Bremen Enquirer has only been scanned by Newspapers.com up to 1964. Later years are not available digitally, despite our efforts to offer them our reels.
A few years ago, the Bremen Public Library gave us their collection of newspaper microfilm, but the reader was in poor condition, so we donated it to the Marshall County Historical Museum, who had the need for such a reader and the funds to refurbish it. The Slide N Scan now fills that niche for us in a practical way, allowing us to view slides, negatives (inverted to positive), and microfilm and to capture high-quality images.

The high-resolution images of full newspaper pages from microfilm are quite readable.
